After having created in 1991, the store “Fibres” for the Calligrane company, Jean-Michel Letellier began in 1997, research on the creation of large size paper with compositions in filigree.
In 1999, he obtained a grant from the AFFA for inhouse training with the Kujoyama Villa in Japan. After perfecting his method in various workshops in Asia he returned to France and created his own workshop in the old match factory of Trélazé in Anjou.
Using his training and experiance, he finalised, with his Japanese wife, Miki Nakamura, a unique technique making it possible to transform paper manufacture into an artistic method of expression without equivalent, the applications of which are numerous in the purely artistic field as well as in that of interior design.
